About - Nowa Huta
An initial idea based on the relation between 'Fact/Fiction' and literature. The aim would be to skew the narrative of a story through the placing/arrangement of the content so it is somehow not in order, making the reader have to interpret the narrative of the 'story' for themselves.
A collection of photos documenting the “the model proletarian city” Nowa Huta. Nowa Huta (Poland) is one of only two entirely pre-planned socialist realism cities ever built.
Now Huta is an example of deliberate social engineering in the world. It was built by the soviets to be an ideal city - representing their vision of a grand communist future. But instead, this turned into a hub for anti-communist rallies and a hub for the “Lords Ark” catholic church, a of Polish resistance to communist rule. - how can this disparity be presented?
Nowa Huta was created in 1949 as a separate city near Kraków, It was planned to be the centre of heavy industry. The city was intended to become an ideal city for Socialist propaganda, and populated primarily by industrial workers.
