Coptic Bind
A coptic bind allows a book to lay completely open when flat and at an angle. It also showcases a clear view of the spine and the colourful threads holding the signatures (page groupings) together.
Saddle-Stitch Bind
Folded sheets are gathered together one inside the other and then stapled through the fold line with wire staples. The staples pass through the folded crease from the outside and are clinched between the centre-most pages.
Perfect Bind
Perfect book binds involve the cover and pages being held together using a strong adhesive. Perfect binding creates a blind spot on the page through the way the paper naturally curves up in the centre - not ideal for full spread pages.
