Q - Promotion and Presentation, does influence fall into just three categories; Location Design principles and distribution?

I still want this question/issue I'm trying to solve, to revolve around the promotion of artists' work. But given the abundance of online resources (websites, Instagram) we can use to view artists' work - want the question to focus more on the 'why' and 'how' techniques influence an audience.
  • Location (cultural) - audience
  • Design principles (content) - What media/platform
  • Distribution (impactful timing) - when and how much
While I acknowledge there'.s a plethora of factors that impact how we are influenced, I want to question whether the design communities influence and its means of promotion can be boiled down to these three simple criteria.
  1. With the focus of the project being on promoting i.e. art, or small business; and the focus on design principles and 'how' and 'why' they influence an audience. should my designs work around current issues (i.e. COVID-19) or should I keep it as indifferent as possible?
  2. regarding the distribution and aspect of the question - I won't be able to print these posters but want to keep the poster format. should I make a website that solely promotes business posters? (any other suggestions)
  3. regarding the location aspect to the question - before lockdown, city/town(s) centers would have been the location to gain the most coverage, but now with everyone locked in at home -  apps like Instagram are where the most impact can be made. how could I adapt the quite literal (arrows) poster to an online format?
  • mail - posters. - distribution
  • focus on just one - distribution (how people connect)
  • concrete confinement - publication on concrete poetry - how people are working together - https://bbdb.it/confinement/?fbclid=IwAR03u7xwPidWWty56sDi3b2CIUKkFLD-6F2576yd4Fg_NIHqHUneoF6O3mg
  • Patrick Thomas open collab - responding to a theme - people responding to image + type spec
  • hyperlinks (arrows) - start in one place and keep get taking t other places (distribution/distraction) - my work - click on it - takes you to the original piece inspired by or something that's interesting related to it
  • How are you drawn to certain areas?
  • 'Look At That' - Web
